COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
ABSENCES AND LEAVES
过程
一般规定
College District employees shall be eligible 来 receive paid and unpaid 离开 in accordance with College District policies and related procedures. Leave is not au来matically granted. Requests for 离开 shall be appropriately documented 并且得到了及时和适当的批准。 Approval shall be based both on the justification of the 离开, the impact of such 离开 on the work unit and the College District, and other fac来rs as appropriate.
Employees shall not lose any accumulated 离开 while on authorized unpaid 离开 of absence. 无薪休假期间不得有额外休假。 During 休假 离开 while the employee is in pay status and during other paid 离开s of absence, 离开 time shall continue 来 accrue at the normal rate.
During a period of unpaid, non-休假 离开 of absence, an employee may elect 来 continue insurance coverage 通过 arranging 来 pay the full premium. Insurance and retirement coverage currently paid 通过 the College District will continue uninterrupted for an employee on paid 离开 or 休假 Leave.
Except for sick 离开 and bereavement 离开, requests for 离开 must be submitted and 批准 在Oracle中 in advance.

Vacation 离开 with compensation shall be available for regular, full-time College District employees, other than faculty and athletic services contract employees.
Full-time faculty members receive time off in accordance with the College calendar of authorized holidays and time as designated between semesters. Thus, they do not accrue vacation time. Any exceptions 来 this procedure will be made under the discretion of the District President.

Employees who transfer 来 positions in which annual vacation 离开 benefits do not accrue shall be paid for all unused vacation at the pay rate effective immediately 之前 来 their transfer dates. The College District reserves the right 来 require that persons employed with restricted funds, 之前 来 the end of their service under the grant, either use their vacation time or be paid for accrued vacation time.

To be eligible 来 receive pay for holiday 离开, employees must be employed during the holiday period. 额外的leave for the weeks 之前 来 and following the holiday will be granted contingent upon the supervisor's judgment that such 离开 would not adversely impact the unit’s performance. 病假
Sick 离开 with regular compensation may be used for personal illnesses, injury, or other health-related conditions, or for illness or injury of the employee’s immediate family. For the purpose of this procedure, immediate family means father, mother, sister, brother, son, daughter, spouse, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents (配偶 included), and grandchildren. It also includes any other family member living in the household of the employee or any of the above relationships in a “step” capacity.
Sick 离开 benefits are provided solely 来 provide income protection for the events described 上方和 may not be used for any other absence except as allowed under this procedure for bereavement (see “Bereavement Leave”).
Employees who are unable 来 report 来 work due 来 illness or injury shall notify their immediate supervisors 通过 电话 打电话或发短信 至少 one hour 之前 来 the start of their regularly scheduled workday, unless they cannot due 来 circumstances beyond their control. Lack of a 电话 is not a valid reason for failure 来 report an absence. Absent employees shall also contact their supervisors on each additional day of absence 以同样的方式.
签订教师合同的员工按8小时工作日计算病假; therefore, when faculty members are absent for an entire day, they must use 8 hours of sick 离开 来 cover the absence.
If an employee is absent for five or more consecutive days due 来 illness or injury, a physician’s statement shall be provided verifying the illness; its beginning and expected ending 日期和 certifying that the employee may safely return 来 责任. Such verification may also be requested for other sick 离开 absences and may be required as a condition 来 receiving sick 离开 benefits.

Employees shall report on-the-job injuries and direct manifestations of occupational diseases 来 their supervisors immediately and complete a report of injury. Supervisors are 来 immediately report such injuries 来 Human Resources.
Employees on 离开 for workers' compensation due 来 job-related injuries or illnesses will be placed on 休假 Leave if applicable.
A 高额 certification from a medical professional can be requested at any time after a sick 离开 absence greater than 5 working days.
事假
Up 来 32 hours paid 离开 may be granted annually according 来 the College’s fiscal year for personal 离开. Such 离开 will be charged against the employee’s sick 离开 accruals.
丧亲离开
Up 来 24 hours paid 离开 may be granted when a death occurs in the immediate family of a College District employee for the attendance of services, making of arrangements, for the settlement of the estate, or other legal matters. Bereavement 离开 may be used for the two weeks after the death of the immediate family member. Approval for the use of Bereavement Leave outside of the 2 weeks may be requested from Human Resources. For the purpose of bereavement 离开, immediate family means father, mother, sister, brother, son, daughter, spouse, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents (配偶 included), and grandchildren. It also includes any other family member living in the household of the employee or any of the above relationships in a “step” capacity.
In the event that an employee must take bereavement 离开, the employee shall notify the College District as soon as possible after learning of the need for 离开.
In the event of the death of a friend or a more distant relative, employees may use up 来 24 hours of sick 离开.
If additional time is needed during the time of bereavement, other accrued 离开s may be utilized.
军队离开
For military 离开, the employee shall submit a 离开 request form with a copy of the official military orders placing the employee on 活跃的 责任 status 至少 five (5) work days before the beginning date of 活跃的 责任 status.
During military 离开, employees may have certain rights 来 continue participation in the Employee Healthcare Plan as provided 通过 law.
When an employee returns from military 离开 (depending on the length of military service in accordance with USERRA), the employee will be placed either in the position he or she would have attained if he or she had remained continuously employed or in a comparable position. For the purpose of determining benefits that are based on length of service, the employee will be treated as if he or she had been continuously employed.
无薪休假
Full-time College District employees may be granted unpaid 离开s of absence for a variety of reasons provided such requests are thoroughly documented, timely, meet eligibility requirements, and are reviewed and 批准 in advance through regular channels. Requests will then be forwarded 来 the Vice President 的操作 with appropriate recommendation for review and disposition.
Employees shall not lose any accumulated 离开 while on authorized unpaid 离开 of absence, nor shall any additional 离开 accrue during such 离开 of absence. Employees on unpaid 离开 are not eligible for holiday pay,除非员工已获批准休假.
无薪休假不会自动获得批准。 The decision will be based both upon the justification of need for such 离开 and upon the strength of assurance that such 离开 will not cause undue disruption of work in the employee's area of responsibility.
宗教节日
Any College District employee may be absent from work for observance of a religious holiday and must provide proper notification, in advance, 来 the immediate supervisor. This shall be taken as paid 离开 通过 utilizing personal 离开 or accrued vacation or unpaid 离开 if paid 离开 is not available.
行政离开
The College District may place an employee on administrative 离开 pending the results of an investigation or 来 protect the safety of the employee and/or others. Administrative 离开 may be paid or unpaid. The placement of an employee on administrative 离开, length of 离开, paid or unpaid status, and other conditions of administrative 离开 are at the discretion of the College District and must be 批准 通过 the Vice President 的操作.
《家庭医疗休假法》
After five (5) consecutive days of sick 离开 the College will place an employee on 休假 离开 in accordance with federal law and guidelines, as applicable. It is the responsibility of the supervisor 来 alert Human Resources that they have had an employee absent on sick 离开 for five (5) consecutive days.
陪审员的义务
When summoned for jury 责任, an employee shall present the jury summons 来 their departmental supervisor as soon as possible for planning purposes. Once the employee has completed their service 来 the court, they should request a work excuse. The work excuse shall be submitted 来 Payroll attached 来 the Absence Request form. If the court dismisses the employee at a time allowing them 来 return 来 their 工作站 with an hour or more left in the work day, the employee is expected 来 return 来 work.
As an encouragement 来 fulfill civic 责任, the College allows employees 来 keep any remuneration given 通过 the court for which they served.
