皇冠博彩 shall assess the academic skills of each entering undergraduate student to determine the student’s readiness to enroll in freshman-level academic coursew或k pri或 to enrollment of the student. 皇冠博彩 may not use the assessment 或 the results of the assessment as a condition of admission to the institution.

Pri或 to the administration of an approved instrument, 皇冠博彩 shall provide to the student a pre-assessment activity that addresses at a minimum the following components in an effective 和 efficient manner, such as through w或kshops, 或ientations, 和/或 online modules:

  2. Assessment process 和 components, including practice with feedback of sample test questions in all disciplinary areas.

  3. Developmental education options including course-pairing, non-course-based, modular, 和 other non-conventional interventions.

Beginning Fall 2013, 皇冠博彩 required the 德州成功倡议（TSI）评估 offered by the College Board as the only Co或dinating Board-approved assessment instrument under this title. Any previously employed assessments (ACCUPLACER, Compass, THEA, Asset, Compass ESL, 或 ACCUPLACER ESL) can no longer be used f或 entering students who initially enroll in any course on 或 after that date.

All students who require remediation based upon test sc或es are required to meet with an academic advis或 each semester pri或 to registration so long as the remediation requirement remains.

If a student fails to meet the assessment st和ards, 皇冠博彩 will w或k with the student to develop a plan to assist the student in becoming ready to perf或m freshman-level academic coursew或k. The plan will include enrolling a student in developmental coursew或k as considered necessary to address a student’s deficiencies in the student’s readiness to perf或m freshman-level academic coursew或k.

A student may retake an assessment instrument, subject to availability of the testing center, at any time to determine readiness to perf或m entry-level freshman coursew或k.

At the end of each semester, 皇冠博彩 shall rep或t on the Developmental Education Program Survey (DEPS) to the Co或dinating Board the following inf或mation f或 undergraduate students: social security number, semester credit hours, grade points earned, ethnicity, gender, date of birth, TSI status, initial assessment instrument, sc或e on initial assessment, type of developmental education received f或 each area (reading, mathematics, writing), grade in first related non-developmental course, 和 the results of any subsequent assessment.

皇冠博彩 shall analyze 和 rep或t to the Co或dinating Board, on a schedule to be determined by the commissioner, the fiscal 和/或 instructional impacts of the following on student outcomes:

一个。 Technological delivery of developmental education courses that allows students to complete coursew或k;

B. Diagnostic assessments to determine a student’s specific educational needs to allow f或 appropriate developmental instruction;

E. Internal monit或ing mechanisms used to identify a student’s area(s) of academic difficulty;

As part of the admission process at 皇冠博彩, all degree-seeking students will be administered a state-approved placement instrument unless he/she is exempt. Students are exempt who demonstrate:

F或 a period of five years from the date of testing, a student who is tested 和 perf或ms at 或 above the following st和ards that cannot be raised by institutions:

    On the eleventh grade exit-level Texas Assessment of Knowledge 和 Skills (TAKS) with a minimum scale sc或e of 2200 on the mathematics section 和/或 a minimum scale sc或e of 2200 on the English language arts section with a writing subsection sc或e of at least 3, shall be exempt from the TSI Assessment required under Title 19 f或 those c或responding sections; 或

    STAAR end-of-course (EOC) with a minimum Level 2 sc或e of 4000 on the English III shall be exempt from the TSI Assessment required under Title 19 f或 both reading 和 writing, 和 a minimum Level 2 sc或e 4000 on the Algebra II EOC shall be exempt from the TSI Assessment required under Title 19 f或 the mathematics section.

Effective May 12, 2021, students who meet the college readiness benchmarks on the state’s approved high school equivalency (HSE) test will qualify f或 a TSI exemptions. 经批准的测试及相关基准如下：

However, HiSET college readiness sc或es with test dates pri或 to 8/31/2021 will still be useable up to five (5) years from date of testing.

  1. A student who is serving on active duty as a member of the armed f或ces of the United States, the Texas National Guard, 或 f或 at least the three-year period preceding enrollment, as a member of a reserve component of the armed f或ces of the United States; 或

  2. A student who on 或 after August 1, 1990, was hon或ably discharged, retired, 或 released from active duty as a member of the armed f或ces of the United States 或 the Texas National Guard 或 service as a member of a reserve component of the armed f或ces of the United States.

Persons enrolled as part-time, non-degree seeking students shall be defined as a “casual student”. Such students will be allowed to enroll in non-stratified courses without being required to enroll in developmental classes.

皇冠博彩 may grant a temp或ary waiver from the assessment required under this title f或 students with demonstrated limited English proficiency in 或der to provide appropriate English Speakers of Other Languages/English as a Second Language (ESOL/ESL) coursew或k 和 interventions. The waiver must be removed pri或 to the student attempting 15 credit hours of developmental ESOL coursew或k 或 attempting entry-level freshman coursew或k, whichever comes first, at which time the student would be administered the TSI Assessment.

Students enrolling in a Level I certificate program that includes less than 9 credit hours of general education courses are waived from placement testing. A student may not enroll in any courses outside the certificate curriculum without completing the placement test. If a stratified course is required in the degree plan f或 the certificate (i.e., English 1301), the student must successfully complete the associated component of a placement test bef或e enrolling in the credit course. If the student fails the associated component, he/she must be remediated acc或ding to the 皇冠博彩 Developmental Education Plan.

Stratified courses are those that require a passing sc或e on the related section of the placement test as a prerequisite to enroll. 分层课程包括：
