Monique “Mo” Brand found her place in communities and news media through uniquely profound personal and professional experiences that continue to support her journey today. She then continued her studies in English Literature at Texas Lutheran University. A member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9191, she was also honored by the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, Major James Kerr Chapter, for her “service to the community and country.” Currently, Monique serves as the chairman of the City of Killeen Animal Advisory board, vice chair of the City of Killeen Arts Commission, Sister Cities board member and Communications Chair for the Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce. In addition to being a proud mom to her cat, Horen, she also enjoys managing her ranch.
