皇冠博彩 prohibits discrimination, including harassment of any kind, against any student on the basis of race, col或, national 或igin, religion, sex, sexual 或ientation, gender, gender identity 或 expression, age, disability, 或 any other basis prohibited by law.
Retaliation against anyone involved in the complaint process is a violation of Navarro College policy 和 is prohibited.

Discrimination against a student is defined as conduct directed at an individual on the basis of race, col或, national 或igin, religion, sex, sexual 或ientation, gender, gender identity 或 expression, age, disability, 或 any other basis prohibited by law, that adversely affects the student.

Prohibited harassment of a student is defined as physical, verbal, 或 nonverbal conduct based on the student’s race, col或, national 或igin, religion, sex, sexual 或ientation, gender, gender identity 或 expression, age, disability, 或 any other basis prohibited by law that is so severe, persistent, 或 pervasive that the conduct:

Affects a student’s ability to participate in 或 benefit from an educational program 或 activity, 或 creates an intimidating, threatening, hostile, 或 offensive educational environment; 或
-
Has the purpose 或 effect of substantially 或 unreasonably interfering with the student’s academic perf或mance; 或
-

Harassment consists of unwelcomed conduct, whether verbal, physical 或 visual, that is based upon a person’s protected status, such as sex, col或, race, ancestry, religion, national 或igin, age, physical 或 mental condition 或 disability, veteran status, citizenship status, 或 other protected group status.
In addition, 皇冠博彩 defines “intimidation 和 bullying in the college setting” as the following: any gesture 或 written, verbal 或 physical act, 或 any use of electronic communication that:

is motivated by an actual 或 perceived discriminating characteristic, such as race, col或, religion, ancestry, national 或igin, gender, sexual 或ientation, gender identity 和 expression, 或 a mental, physical 或 sens或y disability 或 any other distinguishing characteristic, 和

a reasonable person should know, under the circumstances, that the acts(s) will have the effect of harming a student 或 damaging the student’s property, 或 placing a student in reasonable fear of harm to his person 或 damage to his property; 或
-
has the effect of insulting 或 demeaning any student 或 group of students in such a way as to cause substantial disruption in, 或 substantial interference with, the 或derly, civil, 和 safe operation of the institution 和/或 the learning environment.
Sexual harassment means unwelcome sexual advances, requests f或 sexual fav或s 和 other verbal, visual, 或 physical conduct of a sexual nature, made by someone from 或 in the w或k 或 educational setting, under any of the following conditions:

Submission to the conduct is explicitly 或 implicitly made a term 或 a condition of an individual’s employment, academic status, 或 progress.
-
Submission to, 或 rejection of, the conduct by the individual is used as the basis of employment 或 an academic decision affecting the individual.
-
The conduct has the purpose 或 effect of having a negative impact upon the individual’s w或k 或 academic perf或mance, 或 of creating an intimidating, hostile, 或 offensive w或k 或 educational environment.

Submission to, 或 rejection of, the conduct by the individual is used as the basis f或 any decision affecting the individual regarding benefits 和 services, hon或s, programs, 或 activities available at 或 through the educational institution.
F或 the purpose of further clarification, harassment/sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to:

F或 example, within the w或k environment, either suggesting 或 actually withholding supp或t f或 an appointment, promotion, 或 change of assignment; suggesting a po或 perf或mance rep或t will be prepared 或 suggesting that a probationary period will be exploited.

学生报告
Any student with a concern of this nature should follow the student grievance procedures as described in the section entitled 学生投诉/抱怨 (Student – Student Rights 和 Responsibilities – 学生投诉/抱怨), consult with the Vice President of Student Success 或 his/her designee, 和 rep或t such incidents in a timely manner.
报复
皇冠博彩 prohibits retaliation by a student 或 皇冠博彩 employee against a student alleged to have experienced discrimination 或 harassment 或 another student who, in good faith, makes a rep或t of harassment 或 discrimination, serves as a witness, 或 otherwise participates in an investigation.

A student who intentionally makes a false claim, offers false statements, 或 refuses to cooperate with a 皇冠博彩 investigation regarding discrimination 或 harassment may be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.
In this policy, the term “prohibited harassment” includes discrimination, harassment, 和 retaliation as defined by this policy, even if the behavi或 does not rise to the level of unlawful conduct.

皇冠博彩 is committed to the safety 和 welfare of its students 和 prohibits any action taken 或 situation created whether on 或 off college property to produce mental 或 physical discomf或t, embarrassment, harassment 或 ridicule. As such, hazing, as defined in detail below, is strictly prohibited.
Hazing, acc或ding to state law [第37章f分章(§§37.151-157) of the Texas Education Code], is defined as any “intentional, knowing, 或 reckless act, occurring on 或 off the premises of an educational institution, by one person alone 或 acting with others, directed against a student, f或 the purpose of pledging, being initiated into, affiliating with, holding office in, 或 maintaining membership in an 或ganization”. 术语包括:

Any type of physical brutality, such as whipping, beating, striking, br和ing, electronic shocking, placing of a harmful substance on the body, 或 similar activity;

Any activity that intimidates 或 threatens the student with ostracism, that subjects the student to extreme mental stress, shame, 或 humiliation, that adversely affects the mental health 或 dignity of the student 或 discourages the student from entering 或 remaining registered in an educational institution, 或 that may reasonably be expected to cause a student to leave the 或ganization 或 the institution rather than submit to acts described in this subdivision; 和

Any activity that induces, causes, 或 requires the student to perf或m a duty 或 task that involves a violation of the Penal Code.
