副学士护理（ADN）计划

Thank you for your interest in the 副学士护理学 (ADN) program at Navarro College. 的 Traditional 副学士护理学 program is a 两年的课程 which leads to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. 的 curriculum includes classroom learning activities, campus skills labs, faculty-directed low tech clinical simulation experiences, and clinical agency learning experiences. Graduates who meet eligibility requirements as mandated by the 德州护理委员会 and who successfully complete the National Council Licensure Examination for 注册护士s (NCLEX-RN) licensure examination are eligible to begin practice as registered nurses.

All prerequisite courses must be completed within seven years of applying to the traditional ADN program. If you have completed BIOL 2401 or BIOL 2402 or both earlier than seven years, you may take BIOL 2404 to satisfy the prerequisite. This will be explained further in the virtual information session.

ADN Degree Plans will be initiated upon admission to the ADN Program and will be changed if the student drops from the program. New students will be registered for the appropriate RNSG classes by ADN faculty. New students should register themselves for other NON-RNSG required classes and, of course, select the schedule the student prefers. A calendar that details the RNSG course lecture, lab, and clinical schedules will be available to students prior to the start of the semester.

A few things to know if you are interested in applying for 2026 admission to the ADN program:

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Exam: If you are interested in admission for 2026, you may take the TEAS exam twice between March 1, 2025 and the application deadline for 2026 admissions.
的 Traditional ADN Program will only accept science classes (Anatomy and Physiology I and II) completed with 7 years prior to the application deadline. For 2026 applications, Anatomy and Physiology I & II must be completed no earlier than Spring 2019.

For 2026 admission to the 副学士护理学 program, all prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of the Fall 2025 semester. All prerequisite courses are indicated in ADN degree plans.

德州众议院法案（HB） 1508

Effective September 1st 2017, 德州众议院法案（HB） 1508 amends the Texas Occupations Code Section 53 that requires education providers to notify you a potential or enrolled student that a criminal history may make you ineligible for an occupational license upon program completion.

Any nursing applicant who has been arrested, convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation, diagnosed with, treated, or hospitalized in the past five years for schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, paranoid personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, or borderline personality disorder, or addicted to or treated for the use of alcohol or any other drug within the past five years, must petition the 德州护理委员会 for a declaratory order concerning their eligibility to take the licensing examination, the NCLEX-RN.

的 application for a declaratory order can be downloaded from the 德克萨斯州护理委员会网站. This declaratory order must be completed and the eligibility letter received before the student starts nursing courses. If the case must be sent to the enforcement division, the processing may take up to 24 months.

This information is being provided to all persons who apply or enroll in the program with notice of the requirements as described above, regardless of whether or not the person has been convicted of a criminal offense.

Additionally, HB 1508 authorizes licensing agencies to require reimbursements when a student fails to receive the required notice.
