病人护理技术员s (PCT) work under the supervision of healthcare professionals to assist with the critical day-to-day care of patients, typically in a hospital setting. They provide hands-on assistance to serve patients’ basic needs, which greatly impacts the lives of their patients and their patients’ families. As a PCT, you perform basic patient care (bathing, feeding, catheter care, etc.), complete safety checks and ensure cleanliness in patient rooms, accommodate any additional patient needs, obtain EKG readings and monitor vital signs, perform phlebotomy procedures, and provide emotional support to patients and families. Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) national examination to get their certification. Certification is granted by the certifying organization after receiving a passing grade on the exam.

For entry into the PCT program, applicants must show that they have successfully completed the following coursework: Electrocardiography (EKG), 放血 (with sticks on live individuals), and 注册护士助理. Should an applicant not have coursework or certification in some or all these areas, he/she may complete these programs at 皇冠博彩 and then enter the PCT program upon successful completion of all three credentials.

All applicants will meet with a member of the Allied Health staff to go over program requirements, costs, funding options, and application guidelines. This meeting can be done on the phone, in-person, or through Zoom. It will last approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Applicants will submit the Allied Health Applicant Intake form after completing the 入学前学生会议 form.

Complio is the official 3rd party provider for background checks, drug tests, and immunization compliance. It is also where applicants will sign the program application documents.

Applicants will receive the Complio link to purchase their Complio package once the Allied Health Applicant Intake form is completed.
注意: Each program has limited spots and students are registered for the program on a first-come, first-served basis. Every applicant will be made aware of available program spots at the pre-enrollment student meeting. Should the program become filled, and if the applicant has already purchased Complio, they will be waitlisted and may have the option to enroll if a spot opens. If a spot does NOT open, they will be given priority enrollment in the next program offering.

Effective September 1st 2017, 德州众议院法案（HB） 1508 amends the Texas Occupations Code Section 53 that requires education providers to notify you a potential or enrolled student that a criminal history may make you ineligible for an occupational license upon program completion. Please contact the Office of 继续教育 should you wish to request a review of the impact of criminal history on your potential certification prior to registration or during the program.
This information is being provided to all persons who apply or enroll in the program with notice of the requirements as described above, regardless of whether or not the person has been convicted of a criminal offense. Additionally, HB 1508 authorizes licensing agencies to require reimbursements when a student fails to receive the required notice.
